One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne Reunite in Win at BRIT Awards; What Have the Boys Been up to so far?
Two of the four One Direction members reunited to pick up their win at the BRIT Awards 2016. Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne worked the stage like old times as they accepted their award of Best Video for "Drag Me Down."
Despite being in a hiatus at the moment, the duo expressed their gratitude for the honor, particularly calling out their loyal fanbase.
"We have the best fans in the world," Tomlinson said in the pair's acceptance speech. "It really is incredible guys, this award is for you, thank you so so much."
Payne added, "It's been incredible thank you so much."
The winning song for the fan vote category was the first single of One Direction after fifth member Zayn Malik exited the band. The remaining foursome filmed the dynamic video at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.
One Direction was nominated for the British Group category as well, although fellow Brit band Coldplay ended up winning the award. Besides showing up to receive their possible awards, Payne and Tomlinson also attended the awards show to present the British Female Solo award to hit-maker Adele.
The BRIT Awards only reunited two of the four remaining members of One Direction, but the sight of Payne and Tomlinson together is the closest thing the fans have gotten to see the famous foursome together in an official setting since their much-publicized hiatus.
The duo may be taking a break from the One Direction frenzy, but they have previously expressed the likelihood of working together again. Tomlinson is eager to continue writing music during the hiatus and perhaps even with pal and bandmate Payne.
"I enjoy that, with Liam," he said in an interview last year. "We definitely will. I'm sure we will."
Earlier this week, the new father revealed to his Twitter followers that he's working on music once again saying, "Was great to start writing again yesterday!"
Payne was on the same page as his friend, revealing on Instagram a "little song" he wrote during the break. He's also reportedly been tapped to write some music for global diva Jennifer Lopez as he begins his plans of breaking into the music publishing industry.
The other two members of the band, Harry Styles and Niall Horan, have also kept busy in the wake of their split with Styles starting a new artist management group and planning a solo debut and Horan travleing the world.
