Previous reports said Chespirito, whose real name is Roberto Gómez Bolaños, was in a delicate state, but those close to the comedian say that this is just not true.

"We don't know where that version of the story came from," said Luis Jorge Arnau, director of Grupo Chespirito. "He's at home in Cancun. Just this week his oldest daughter visited him."

His daughter, Graciela, echoes the sentiment through the voice of Arnau.

"We spoke to her. There's no change to report," he said. "He has been delicate for the past six or seven months, but it's nothing complicated or something that someone who is 85 doesn't go through."

Chespirito is reported to be in good spirits and focused on leisurely activities.

"He reads," he said. "He watches the Puma soccer match. We don't have much to comment on because he's calm. He is stable. He has mobility issues, but it's the same things that have affected him for a little more than a year."

Arnau thinks the rumors came because someone may have seen a doctor entering his home, and then someone reported something that wasn't true. He added that Florinda Meza was not with him. She's in the U.S. and returns this weekend.

Chespirito's son, Roberto Gómez Fernández, took to Twitter to clear up rumors.

"My father is in good health. He's very calm, like the level of the sea. Thanks for asking," he said.

Even the comedian himself updated the public about his health on Twitter.

"Not only am I calm. I am very very happy with Gra, my oldest daughter, who is visiting me at home. I love her. Chespirito," he said.

The last time the family had to deny rumors was in October 2013 when reports claimed that he was hospitalized.
