The rumor mill surrounding the new OnePlus 3 continues to churn after one of the company's big bosses confirmed when they plan on releasing OnePlus 2's predecessor.

Much is yet to be disclosed about the new OnePlus flagship device, but that does not mean people will keep quiet about it.

In fact, many expectations and speculations about the device surfaced after Carl Pei, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer's co-founder, revealed a not-so-specific release date.

Rumored Specs and Features

According to renders leaked in December by Mobile Dad, the new OnePlus flagship device will sport a brushed steel look, a definite change from OnePlus' signature sandstone black back.

Another obvious update to the new OnePlus device is the glaring absence of the Home button.

In terms of chipset, Android Pit has high "hopes" that the company will not make the same mistake of using "the cursed" Snapdragon 810.

Instead, the company should power their new OnePlus 3 using the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, which has the same power without the overheating problems that plagued its predecessor, says the outlet.

Meanwhile, Tech Times got word that Microsoft is preparing a version of their Windows 10 Mobile ROM that would be compatible with upcoming devices like the OnePlus 3.

In an unofficial concept design from Hasan Kaymak posted in Concept Phones the OnePlus 3 is shown sporting a 5.2-inch Quad HD display with a powerful 4,000 mAh battery.

In terms of internal memory and RAM, the upcoming OnePlus device is expected to be available in two variants: a 3GB RAM and 16GB internal memory combo and one with 64GB worth of internal memory matched with a speedy 4GB RAM.

Camera capabilities are pegged at 13MP and 5MP for the rear and front snapper, respectively.

Release Date

In an interview with CNet Español, Pei said that the new OnePlus 3 would be unveiled some time "at the end of the second quarter."

Based on this statement, many are inclined to believe that the new flagship phone from the Guangdong-based company will be revealed sometime in June.

Price

So far, no official estimated price has been revealed yet, but the fourth smartphone from the company is expected to be right about the price range of its predecessor when it was released. That makes its estimated price at $400.

The OnePlus 2 is currently available at a marked down price of $349, according to a post from the company's official Twitter page.
