The Houston Texans have released veteran running back Arian Foster along with two other players on Thursday. Foster is arguably one of the best players in Texans history as he holds several all-time franchise records.

"Arian has contributed much, and meant a great deal to the success of the franchise over the past seven seasons and we wish him only the best as he continues his playing career," general manager Rick Smith said.

Foster joined the Texans as an undrafted college free agent in 2009 and worked his way to becoming one of the best running backs in the NFL. He played seven seasons in Houston and is a four-time Pro Bowler. However, the 29-year-old was limited to only four games this season due to a couple of injuries. He suffered a groin injury before the start of the season and a torn Achilles tendon in Week 7. After his release, Foster issued a heartfelt message on Instagram regarding his time with the Texans.

"I've got 7 years of beautiful memories with teammates, staff and coaches I'll never forget. Thank you all for being a part of this journey," Foster said. "The people of this city have put a lot of joy in the hearts of my self and my family."

The question now is which team will take the risk of signing an often-injured running back? NFL.com listed five potential teams that could grab the chance to add a four-time Pro Bowler.

Dallas Cowboys

Team owner Jerry Jones wants an additional running back to play with Darren McFadden and Dallas seems to be a good fit for Foster. ESPN analyst Mark Brunell agrees with it, adding that the modern NFL team requires two complimentary running backs.

Denver Broncos

NFL.com noted that Foster played his best seasons under former Texans and current Broncos coach Gary Kubiak. It seems to be the perfect destination for the veteran running back as the Broncos are set to lose Ronnie Hillman, which means that C.J. Anderson needs a new partner.

Atlanta Falcons

Despite having two young running backs -- Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman -- the presence of offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan could be the key to acquiring Foster. The veteran running back played under Shanahan when the coordinator was in Houston.

New England Patriots

Pats coach Bill Belichick has praised Foster in the past and Dion Lewis is still recovering from his injury. However, it is expected that New England will not pay a veteran running back a large amount of money.

Seattle Seahawks

Lastly, the Seahawks need a veteran to guide young running back Thomas Rawls. Foster fits the bill and can teach Rawls a thing or two.
