Are the Lakers 'Swag Bros.' Jordan Clarkson & D'Angelo Russell the Next 'Splash Bros.' Stephen Curry & Klay Thompson or Even Better? [Poll]
The Los Angeles Lakers shocked the basketball world when they defeated the Golden State Warriors last Sunday. It was only the sixth loss of the season for the defending champions, but it was more shocking that the Lakers won by 17 points at 112-95.
The team was led by sophomore guard Jordan Clarkson, who scored a game-high 25 points and rookie D'Angelo Russell, who added 21 points. Russell praised Kobe Bryant for helping them during the game saying, "He was coaching us the whole game from the sideline. Telling us to push it when we got it, don't wait, and it worked."
The young Lakers were at it again, this time, against the Orlando Magic on Tuesday, March 8. Clarkson and Russell combined for 51 points to help defeat the Magic 107-98. The duo has been on a tear lately and Clarkson came up a nickname for him and his backcourt mate.

'Swag Bros.'
Yes, the backcourt duo of Clarkson and Russell will now be called "Swag Bros." Did they get permission from teammate Nick "Swaggy P" Young to use the word swag? Nevertheless, the young guards have shown that they indeed have swag this season.
The 23-year-old Clarkson has posterized several people this season while the 20-year-old Russell recently exploded for his career-high on March 2. He scored 39 points while hitting eight 3-point shots. You can view the "Swag Bros." in action in the videos below.
Are They the Next 'Splash Bros.'?
We all know that Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, collectively known as the "Splash Bros.," is by far the best backcourt in the NBA right now. Curry is the reigning MVP and has been putting crazy numbers across the board this season. On the other hand, Thompson is one of the best two-way guards in the league and is a two-time All-Star.
Can the "Swag Bros." match them in the future? Maybe, but they need to prove themselves first before being even compared to Curry and Thompson. Clarkson is carving himself as a good scorer in the NBA, averaging 15.9 points per game this season while shooting 45 percent from the field and 38 percent from threes.
As for Russell, he has been kept in the dark by Lakers head coach Byron Scott but is proving in recent games that the hype surrounding him in the draft may be real. There is also the fact that Clarkson may leave this July via free agency as he will be a restricted free agent.
