The return of Ronda Rousey continues to be a mystery for UFC fans, with the former champion still not completely over her UFC 193 loss to Holly Holm. “Rowdy” is being linked to a possible third fight with Miesha Tate, but the reigning champion made it clear that she doubts Rousey’s readiness to return to the Octagon.

The case may be different though when it comes to video games. Rousey is one-half of the upcoming “EA Sports UFC 2” sports game. The other half is UFC Featherweight champion Conor McGregor.

Rowdy Uncomfortable Playing Video Character Version

For a gamer, it seems to make sense to hear that one would use a character with high attributes. One of these characters is that of Rousey’s, which is ranked the second highest in the 135 division of the women’s division.

So with that said, it should be a no-brainer for Rousey to use her video rendition in the event she does play the game. Unfortunately, that is not the case with Rousey having her reasons.

After admitting that the whole setup of seeing her character play on the game seems awkward, her prime reason goes beyond that. It touches on the fact that she doesn’t have full control of the character.

“I don’t like being not as in control of my body as I should be,” said Rousey. “I don’t know all the buttons to like counter a double (leg takedown) with a Harai goshi. I’d do it in real life, but it’d be really hard (in the game).”

What to Push and Not

The reason is seen as something that neophytes would encounter for such games – familiarity of the game controls. It is no secret that one has to memorize certain combos to execute counters and finishes, something that could get a bit confusing for people not really into gaming.

Could her take change if she ever gets the hang of it? There is a chance. But given her tight schedule and commitments at the moment, Rousey may not have the time to play the game and go through the motions of figuring out how to control her (or other) fighter characters in the game.

No Word Yet on Return

Heading back to reality, Rousey’s return to the Octagon is a more important matter that people want to know. Dana White wants her back, but it seems that Rousey is not mentally ready to slug it out once again.

Rousey is a preference to meet Tate for the third time, but the problem here is that “Cupcake” is not about to wait for her to be ready.

Holm has reiterated her call for a rematch but there is no official word on the path the UFC plans to go.

With UFC 200 just around the corner, White could be forced to take back Rousey’s shot with "Rowdy" looming to realistically return by the end of this year.
