2014 World Cup Official Song: Don Omar's 'Pura Vida' May Compete With Pitbull and J.Lo's 'We Are One' As Tournament's Anthem
Don Omar is back with new music, and his new song "Pura Vida" might soon be everywhere.
His song is being considered as one that might play during the 2014 World Cup if he can sign a deal with Pepsi. "We Are One" by Pitbull and Jennifer Lopez, which is the official song for the soccer event, and "Vida" by Ricky Martin have been defining this year's World Cup. If Don Omar's song becomes Pepsi's song, then it will be competing with these two songs.
Wisin's song "La Copa de Todos," which features both English and Spanish lyrics, is another anthem for the World Cup for Coca-Cola. Paty Cantu sings on the song. There are a few version of this song in different languages, such as Portuguese and English. And he's also the writer of "Adrenalina," which features Ricky Martin and Jennifer Lopez. The song is for Univision.
The "Adrenalina" music video was filmed in Miami in February. There are two versions: one in Spanish and the other in Spanglish. The Spanglish video got more than 10 million views in one week.
In the meantime, Don Omar has been working on his next album, "The Last Don 2," at his New Jersey home. He's already recorded "Deja de Llorar," "Te Recordaré Bailando," "Capo" and "Bailando Bajo El Sol."
Don Omar is heading to Puerto Rico on June 6-8 to participate in a racing event in Salinas, according to Primera Hora. It's a music festival combined with drag racing. The event has taken place in other cities in the United States. He said on his Twitter account that the Virginia show went well. He even uploaded a picture of signing an autograph for a little girl.
