Coachella 2016 Weekend Had Festival Attendees Chant 'No Español' In Response to Spanish Song
A chant of "No Español" allegedly broke out during a recent day of song and dance at the Coachella music festival after one group began singing a Spanish language song between acts.
Taunts of "stop singing please" were also shockingly lobbed at the group by a group of young whites in the midst of what is routinely celebrated as one of the world's most culturally diverse concerts.
Fans, Performers Come From all Over World for Coachella
Bands from all over the world routinely take the stage for the weekend gathering and the throng and throng of fans are able to partake in some of the most varied culinary options offered at any venue. But none of that seemed to matter much during the aforementioned instance, where one festivalgoer could reportedly also be overheard uttering, "I didn't pay $350 to hear them sing."
Still another patron allegedly proposed the idea of a larger group coming together to sing the National Anthem as a way of drowning the Hispanic crooners out.
Sadly, it's not the first time things at the Indio, California held event have proven to be a bit less than harmonious. Some revelers have previously been observed turning out for the event wearing Native American head wraps and Aztec-inspired forms of jewelry.
Concert Approaching 20-Years-old
The Coachella fest has officially operated since 1999 and has original roots that date back as far as a 1993 Pearl Jam concert at the Empire Polo Club.
Among this year's performers were NWA, Calvin Harris, Rihanna, Zedd, Pete Yorn, Chris Stapleton, Kesha and Major Lazer.
The list of celebrities rumored to have been in attendance included Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Joe Jonas, Alessandra Ambrosio, Emily Ratajkowski, Rachel Zoe and Suki Waterhouse.
