The last week of any month is always full of buzz, rumors, and predictions about what titles the upcoming PS Plus free games list will include. But sometimes there's a genuine leak ahead of PlayStation's official release. We may already know the top AAA title for PlayStation 4 coming to the PS Plus free games list for June 2016.

While rumors and predictions have surrounded the possible PS Plus release of AAA titles like Watch Dogs, the Resident Evil HD Remaster, and The Evil Within, we usually have to wait for official word from PlayStation.

And as PS Plus Community Manager @theFrannifer recently tweeted, the full games list will officially be released next week.

Thanks to the way May and June 2016 fell on the calendar, that's a pretty late schedule this time around for the official release of the list -- usually we know sometime late in the month prior what's coming up on the next PS Plus free games list. This time around, expect the full list to come on Wednesday, which happens to be June 1, 2016, with the actual release coming the following Tuesday, June 7, 2016.

But maybe the wait is over. GearNuke picked up a possible quirk in the coding in PlayStation's weekly newsletter, which normally lists the PS4 games for PS Plus subscribers that we all know are currently available this month.

One version of the newsletter did just that, with an image of Tropico 5 and Table Top Racing: World Tour, which are May 2016's free PS Plus titles for the PS4.

Another version of the newsletter, however, had a broken image. Behind it, a string of unpolished, linked text that reads "NBA 2K 2016 | gone home | Free with PS Plus."

As GearNuke noted, that could very well just be a mistake in the email. I think they're right, but that doesn't mean we didn't just get the top PS4 games on the PS Plus free games list for June 2016.

Since it was in the official weekly newsletter, in the same slot as the "latest free games with PS Plus" -- and given the idiosyncratic timing of weekdays with this and next month's calendar we just mentioned -- it seems like it was a mistake: Meaning it was an accidental leak of the actual PS4 games for the next month.

In any case we'll know within a few days for sure, but NBA 2K fans can probably start celebrating, since this seems like a genuine leak.
