Word is the $1 million winning tickets were sold in Michigan and Ohio.

Thus far this year, there have been two Mega Millions jackpot winners, with one winner in New York City walking away with prize of $169 million on January 8, and a winner in Washington netting a $157 million payout on March 8.

Game Officials Warn of Scam Game

Meanwhile, game officials are warning the public about a new scam "attempting to convince consumers they have a big prize using our name."

In a press release, authorities claim the scam entails perpetrators pretending to be from the "Corporate Mega Millions Lottery Office" and falsely telling individuals they have won the "Annual Mega Millions Mobile Lottery."

Beyond stressing that the message is not from lottery officials and in no way connected to their operations, authorities advice all those contacted not to respond because perpetrators will attempt to trick them out of money in order to "claim" their prize.

The only way to play Mega Millions is by purchasing a ticket from one of its licensed retailers. Currently, the game is played in 44 states plus the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands.
