WWE SmackDown Spoilers, Results for June 2, 2016: AJ Styles in Main Event And John Cena, Roman Reings No-Show at SD
"WWE SmackDown" visited Illinois for its next taping, which will not feature John Cena, Seth Rollins and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins.
New Day Kick-Off
WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day opened the show but are interrupted by AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, also known as The Club. By the end of the segment, the main event of the show is announced as Kofi Kingston will face AJ Styles.
Playtime Is Not Over
WWE Women's Champion Charlotte competed in a non-title match against Becky Lynch. The match ended in disqualification, in Lynch's favor, as Dana Brooke interfered. After the match, Natalya made the save and with Lynch helped beat down Charlotte and Brooke.
Tag-Team Showcase
Next, The Dudley Boyz defeated The Golden Truth's Goldust and R-Truth. The finish came when Tyler Breeze and Fandango interfered.
The next tag-team match featured four of the Money in the Bank ladder match competitors: Dean Ambrose and Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens and Alberto Del Rio. Ambrose and Zayn won.
Fight for the U.S. Title
United States Champion Rusev defeated Jack Swagger. Rusev wasn't done and continue to fight Swagger until Titus O'Neil made another save for Swagger.
Main Event
AJ Styles defeated Kofi Kingston with the Styles Clash. Fellow Club members Anderson and Gallows and New Day's Woods and Big E were also at ringside for the main event.
"WWE SmackDown" airs weekly on Thursday at 8 p.m. EST on the USA Network.
