The United States Men's National team will look for redemption as it faces Costa Rica on Tuesday in the Copa America 2016.

U.S. Embarrassed in Opener

Jurgen Klinsmann's men boasted about how "beatable" Colombia was in the lead-up to the opener on Friday. Instead, the team wound up embarrassed at every single turn, losing 2-0 in a game they barely got into. Save for a few good chances the Americans looked lifeless and overwhelmed by a far better team.

Yet for all the poor play, Klinsmann refused to put down his team, retaining an air of optimism that could confuse and mystify those who actually watched the game.

In fact, he went so far as to call the game "even" between the two despite the fact that his team looked lost offensively and that captain Michael Bradley was disastrous in the midfield. Bradley conceded possession almost every single time it was awarded to him, hurting the Americans' ability to build up the play.

Clint Dempsey has a strong night

The one American who did show up was Clint Demspey; the Seattle Sounders star created a number of chances including a tremendous free kick attempt that was brilliantly stopped by Colombia's David Ospina.

The U.S. did look better in the latter stages of the game, but the defense was also exposed on the counter as Colombia came closer to scoring its third than the U.S. to scoring its first.

Fortunately the U.S. was given tremendous help in the second group game as Costa Rica and Paraguay nullified one another in a 0-0 draw.

Costa Rican Woes

Costa Rica offers an interesting challenge for the U.S. as the two confederation rivals are familiar with one another. However, the Pura Vida looked out of sorts in their opener against Paraguay, barely creating chances and looking rather tentative throughout.

Both teams will need three points here to keep their tournament hopes alive.

Player to Watch

Can Michael Bradley bounce back from a poor showing on Friday? He is the man who makes the U.S.'s possession machine work and will need to be at his best if this side has any chance of a fluid win.

Prediction

The U.S. makes a valiant comeback and wins 3-1, showing that they are still in this tournament.
