On Thursday, June 9, NBC Universo will be paying tribute to the Queen of Tejano, Selena Quintanilla-Perez,

News of the special was announced on the official Selena Facebook page, which is managed by the Quintanilla family, on June 8.

The network will be airing the movie "Selena" prior to the tribute which has been titled "Siempre Selena," which will focus on her last concert at the Astrodome in Houston, which helped elevate her status and featured one of her most iconic looks.

The film, starring Jennifer Lopez in the role that elevated her career, will air at 8 pm, followed by the special at 11pm.

Quintanilla has remained a very present part of pop culture since her death on March 31, 1995.

She recently won a Billboard Latin Music Award for Artist of the Year, Female, at the 2016 ceremony and M.A.C will be releasing an exclusive makeup collection inspired by the Latin music icon this October.
