EDC Las Vegas 2016 Live Stream and Set Times – Will DJs Like Calvin Harris, Kaskade Salute Orlando Shooting Victims?
Rave culture thrives on the egalitarian message of peace, love, unity, and respect.
This weekend, Electric Daisy Carnival celebrates 20 years as electronic dance music's rhapsodic epicenter. PLUR, now more than ever, is what EDC Las Vegas needs coming off of Sunday's mass shooting at an Orlando LGBT nightclub that left at least 49 people dead and many others injured.
Orlando is one of a handful of cities Insomniac Events selects for the long-running country-wide electronic dance music festival. Last November's EDC Orlando took place less than three miles from Pulse, so it's not a stretch to believe South Floridians will make the trek to Vegas.
Many of the artists who performed seven months ago will be in Sin City this time around, and at least one - Egyptian trance duo Aly & Fila - are schedule to perform in Orlando Saturday night before flying to Las Vegas for a show-closing set on Sunday.
Some of the DJs that already expressed remorse for the Pulse shooting will undoubtedly reiterate their sentiment to hundreds of thousands of "headliners" converging on Vegas. It's possible some of the victims had plans to attend. The best way to remember them is by laugh like they laughed, dance like they danced, and spread PLUR late into the warm, electric night.
