France vs. Switzerland Euro 2016 Preview, Prediction, Live Stream, Schedule As France Looks to Clinch 1st Place in Group A
France and Switzerland will do battle in the final group game of the Euro 2016 on Sunday.
The French have already clinched a spot in the next round thanks to two big victories to kick off the festivities. The team has yet to fully convince in this tournament, looking tentative at times, lacking killer instinct at others and leaving it late to pick up major wins. The team won its first game against Romania with the clock winding down and did the same exact thing a few days later against Albania, getting a winner from Antoine Griezmann in the dying minutes of the tournament.
The game means a great deal to both teams, but Switzerland needs at least one point to clinch second place in the group and get to the next round. A win would give them first place in the group, which would be against one of the top third place sides. Teams that Switzerland might face if it finishes first include Northern Ireland or Czech Republic (as of this writing).
Finishing second would require the team play the second place side in Group C, which currently looks to be Poland or Germany. Neither France nor Switzerland would want to risk that matchup.
Player to Watch
Dimitri Payet has been the best player in France's outfit thus far. He will likely be the man to watch in this game. He has two goals for the team thus far and has an assists as well, cementing his spot as one of the top players in the tournament thus far.
Prediction
France plays a relaxed game and comes away with a 1-1 draw to clinch the top spot in the group.
Schedule and Start Time
The game gets started at 3 p.m. EDT and can be viewed on ESPN or ESPN Deportes. It can also be streamed on ESPN3.
