'NCIS' Season 14 Cast News: Jennifer Espositio Joins New Season as Agent Alexandra Quinn
Jennifer Esposito has been added to the season 14 cast of "NCIS."
In what will mark the first season for TV's most watched drama series since the departure of original cast member Michael Weatherly, reports are the veteran actress and former "Blue Bloods" star will appear as Special Agent Alexandra "Alex" Quinn.
Esposito's character is billed as an experienced agent who left field work to become an instructor at the Law Enforcement Training Center, only to now be lured back to streets by NCIS boss Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon).
"We couldn't be happier to have Jennifer Esposito joining us for Season 14," said executive producer Gary Glasberg. "She embodies everything that we hoped for in the character of Quinn and we can't wait to have her come be a part of our team."
Wilmer Valderrama Also Added to Cast
The series also recently announced the addition of Wilmer Valderrama as a series regular. Word is the former "That '70s Show" alum will star as a "once-grounded field agent who accepted a deep cover assignment years ago and never resurfaced."
Added Glasberg at the time of the announcement, "Fans are going to see him like they've never seen him before. This is going to be fun. We're thrilled he's coming aboard."
Execs also recently announced the promotion of Duane Henry, who signed on as Officer Reeves late last season.
Sarah Clarke not Returning
Meanwhile, Sarah Clarke will not be returning to the show next season. She joined the series around the same time as Henry in season 13, appearing as Special Agent Tess Monroe.
"NCIS" season 14 kicks off on CBS on Tuesday, Sept. 20. The series also stars Pauley Perrette as Abby Sciuto, David McCallum as Donald "Ducky" Mallard, Sean Murray as Timothy McGee, Rocky Carroll as Leon Vance, Brian Dietzen as Jimmy Palmer and Emily Wickersham as Eleanor Bishop.
