The Copa Libertadores Final kicks off on Wednesday between Atletico Nacional and Independiente de Valle.

The match features the top ranked side of the tournament taking on a massive underdog that shocked a number of heavy hitters throughout the tournament.

Atletico Nacional's Road to final

Colombia's Atletico Nacional dominated the group stage with five wins and one draw in six games, conceding no goals and scoring 12. The team then went up against Argentina's Huracan in the round of 16, winning 4-2 on aggregate before conquering Rosario Central, another Argentine club, 3-2 on aggregate. The team lost its only match of the tournament in this tie, losing 1-0 in the opening leg.

But in the semifinal, Atletico Nacional took a 4-1 aggregate victory over Sao Paolo, winning both games of the draw.

Independiente's road to final

On the other side of the bracket, Independiente de Valle finished second in its group with three wins, two draws and one defeat; the lone defeat came at Atletico Mineiro which wound up winning the group. That left the Ecuadorian side with the 10th seed in the tournament and from there it took on River Plate, UNAM and Boca Juniors on its way to the final.

At home, Independiente has a record of five wins and one draw in this tournament; Nacional has a record of four wins, one loss and one draw on the road.
