On Wednesday, FBI's BAU will face life-threatening dangers and confront secrets from the past when "Criminal Minds" airs part-two of its action-packed season finale.

Both Morgan and Reid were shot during an intense police shootout in last week's installment, "Angels." On May 14, "Demons" will continue where the episode ended as the team will continue working to solve a case involving the murder of prostitutes in Texas.

CBS released preview photos where Morgan appears to be in good health, but Reid is still in the hospital and recovering. However, it looks like one of the bad guys will show up with a gun looking to finish the job.

Actress A.J. Cook recently dropped a few spoilers about the finale, telling BuddyTV.com that the show will "pick up right where we left off. We're in the middle of that shootout, guns blazing, and we're pissed off. When our team is affected, that's when -- when things get personal, that's where we just want to get these bad guys, and it turns out that it's just a really deep, deep web of corruption," she said. "The deeper the team digs, it's just kind of this crazy mess, so we have that to deal with, yet we also emotionally have to deal with one of our team member's life hanging in the balance and we also find out something really kind of sad, a sad secret from one of our characters that we didn't know about. So it's a big episode. There's a lot going on, a lot of personal stuff with our characters. Yet in the middle of all of it, we're deep in this riddle of trying to figure out how deep this corruption runs. It's a nail-biter, it's an edge-of-your-seat action ride and the cool part too is we get to see Garcia jump into that action scene, so yeah, we're just kind of flipping everything on its head and seeing how it all falls. It's going to be an exciting, exciting finale."

Luckily, season 9 will not end with a gripping cliffhanger that leaves fans in suspense until the premiere of season 10. Instead, showrunner Erica Messer teased that the fate of the agent in question will be revealed by the end of the episode. She added that by the end of the show fans can expect to see "everybody taking a deep breath," TVLine reported.

She went on to say, "The out of our first hour is so great, you really can't top it. I wanted our team to be like, 'OK, we survived that one. Now let's get some rest.' There's no cliffhanger, I promise!"

In addition, Messer teased that either one or two of the BAU agents will deal with personal matters on the show. "Rossi and Blake Demons each share something about their lives that we never knew. I'm a sucker in that I love to write about what makes our characters tick, and the stories these two share are really heartwarming and give a lot of insight." Specifically, "I think people will connect with Blake in a way they hadn't before."

According to TV Guide, the synopsis states as follows: "Season 9 ends with the BAU continuing to investigate the murders of prostitutes in Texas and uncovering a deep web of corruption that could be the motive behind the killings. Meanwhile, one team member faces a sad secret from the past; and Garcia is forced into action to save a colleague."

"Demons" will air on Wednesday, May 14, at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
