Miss Teen USA 2016 will air Saturday night July 30 where last year’s queen will pass her crown to the next lucky contestant. Nia Sanchez will host the post event and interview the 2016 winner following the contest.

Before the pageant, there will be a red carpet event that will be live streamed on the Miss U app and on the pageant’s Facebook page. Miss Teen USA 2010 Kamie Crawford will provide commentary for the red carpet event.

The Pageant

The swimsuit round has been eliminated from the competition for the first time in a century. Instead of wearing a swimsuit, the contestants are going to perform an athletic wear round.

Miss Teen USA 2016 partnered with sportswear company Tapout, in order to provide clothing for the athletic wear round. An exclusive collection was designed for this year’s pageant contestants in order to represent their individual hometowns.

This year’s theme is to give scholarship to girls between ages 14 to 19.
