"Clash of Clans" is a build-and-defend strategy game with a children's cartoonish art style. The graphics and artistic design is reminiscent of "Plants vs. Zombies." However, this isn't a tower defense game.

According to the game's website, it's an "epic combat strategy game" and players need to do three things to be successful: building and defending your town, dominating the realm and joining forces or engaging with thousands of players worldwide. Two leaderboards exist to showcase you and your clans might.

When you first start a new game you take on the role of a noble king that's plopped in the middle of a mildly developed village. Your objective is to protect your villagers from an evil horde of green goblins. Starting with 750 coins, you can buy protection for your village. That protection comes in the form of weaponry, in-game player assistance and fortifications. Your money reserves deplete if you're overrun and increases when you defeat the enemy forces.

As you level up more building types, troops and barricades become available to you. Not to mention that the level of difficultly (speed, size and strength of the enemy hordes) subsequently increases. However, as a player you don't always need to be taking the defensive position; you can assemble your troops and raid other towns in single-or-multiplayer modes. Just be careful though, a failed invasion will cost you more than your pride.

Not interested in "Clash of Clans" or have you already played it?" Developer Supercell has two other titles that may suit your fancy. They include "Hay Day," a farming and agriculture sim that allows you to play with your friends. The game is available to play in 16 languages.

The third title Supercell is responsible for is "Boom Beach." Similar to "Clash of Clans" in that you're responsible for defending your property (in this case a military base), Boom Beach also allows players to explore an archipelago.
