The August 6, Powerball jackpot is up to $52 million with a cash-option prize of $36.5 million after no one won the August 3, $40 million drawing.

The winning numbers in last Wednesday's game were 9, 11, 27, 66 and 67. The winning Red Powerball number was 2 and the Power Play number was 3.

Million Dollar Winner

One player from North Carolina matched all five white ball numbers to win a prize of $1 million. Overall, there were 517, 321 winners of at least $4 each.

Powerball is offered in 44 States, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Players select five white ball numbers from (1 to 69) and one red ball (1 to 26). Tickets cost $2 each.

The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 259 million. You can watch a live stream of Saturday night's draw.

Just last week, a player from New Hampshire won the $478 million grand prize, the eight largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history. The win offered a cash-option payment of $330.6 million.

Mega Millions Jackpot at $38 Million

Meanwhile, the Mega Millions jackpot has swelled to $38 million after there were no grand prize winners in Friday night's $30 million drawing.

A single-game winner in next Tuesday's drawing will have the option of collecting on a $26 million onetime, lump sum payment. The winning numbers in the August 5 game were 5, 18, 28, 54 and 74. The Gold Mega Ball number was 6 and the megaplier was 4.

Players from California, Georgia and New York all matched the five white balls needed to earn $1 million each.

Like Powerball, Mega Millions is played in 44 states, plus the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands. Tickets cost $1 each.
