Australia vs. Zimbabwe Live Stream, Preview, Predictions for 2016 Rio Olympics Women's Soccer
The women's national teams from ZImbabwe and Australia close out their group stage on Tuesday at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Australia has just one point and needs a win to manage one of the best two third place teams. The other groups have third place sides with at least three points, leaving Australia with no choice but to win its game.
The team lost its opening Olympic game against Canada 2-0 but managed to salvage a 2-2 draw against Germany. Australia actually built a 2-0 lead in that game before seeing the Germans storm back and level the score by the 88th minute.
Zimbabwe's hopes of going anywhere are all but dashed after the team put forth two woeful efforts to kick off the tournament. Germany destroyed the team 6-1 in the first game before Canada had its way in a 3-1 win.
Prediction
Australia manages a much-needed victory over Zimbabwe to vault itself into one of the two third place slots and moves on to the second round. 1-0 is the final score.
Start Time
Australia and Zimbabwe kick off their match at 3 p.m. EDT.
