Colombia vs. Nigeria Live Stream, Preview, Predictions for Olympics 2016
Colombia will look to advance to the quarterfinals of the Olympic games when it takes on Nigeria in its final group game on Wednesday.
The Colombians have had a decent performance thus far at the competition, drawing both of their matches against Sweden and Japan by the score of 2-2. The Cafeteros have relied on the greatness of striker Teofilo Gutierrez, who featured in this tournament instead of the Copa America last month. Gutierrez has scored two goals for Colombia through two games, though the team is likely a bit rattled after blowing a 2-0 lead against Japan in the final 25 minutes of that game.
Nigeria is already locked into first place in Group B, having won both of its games with Japan and Sweden. The opener against Japan was a 5-4 thrill ride with the African nation charging out to a 5-2 lead before the 70-minute mark but surrendering two late goals to nearly blow the effort. Oghenekaro Etebo scored four goals in that match. The win over Sweden was far better, a 1-0 win. Umar Sadiq scored the winner and has two goals in the competition.
Prediction
Colombia and Nigeria play to a 1-1 draw.
Start Time
Colombia and Nigeria kick off their match at 6 p.m. EDT.
