Mexico vs. Korea Republic Live Stream, Preview, Predictions for Rio Olympics 2016
Mexico and Korea Republic face off in the final group game of the Rio Olympics 2016 on Wednesday.
Both teams sit atop Group C but have a ton at stake in the final game.
With Germany all but assured a win over Fiji in its own matchup, the focus shifts to this game as both sides have four points. A win here for either team and the loser like gets eliminated from the tournament. A draw might help as both sides have superior goal differentials to the Germans, but that can change quickly if the European sides scores a boatload against Fiji. Fiji's two games have ended in an 8-0 loss against Korea Republic and a 5-1 loss against Mexico. Germany is all but assured at least a four-goal win.
Mexico is the team in most danger as its four goal differential puts it in danger of a massive Germany landslide coupled with a Mexican draw versus Korea. Erick Gutierrez was the hero for the team against Fiji, scoring four goals and the team will need him at his best to move on to the next round.
Both Korea and Mexico drew with Germany. The former had a 3-3 tie with the Europeans while Mexico managed a 2-2 draw.
Prediction
Mexico and Korea are likely to play a cagey match to stave off elimination. Look for Mexico to win 1-0 at the end of the day and win the group.
Start Time
Mexico and Korea Republic kick off their match at 3 p.m. EDT.
