Could the Los Angeles Lakers really be considering dismantling what would be their first version of themselves in the post-Kobe Bryant era before so much as taking a real look at the team?

Rumors are the second year forward Julius Randle could be on the market, and perhaps on his way to Denver in a deal that could land veterans Kenneth Faried and Gary Harris in Tinseltown.

For the Lakers, the rumored move seems all about fit, as Randle proved a double-double machine last season and is thought to be poised for even bigger and better things in the days to come.

To make the deal work on all fronts, L.A. is also said to be willing to include veteran swingman Nick Young.

Faried Coveted

In Faried, the Lakers would be landing a front-court vet who's proven to be every bit the rebounder Randle is, with the bonus being he doesn't need the ball quite as much or to have plays called for him to excel at what he does.

After signing veteran center Timofey Mozgov in free agency, the Lakers are also reported to perhaps still hold some interest in Detroit big-man Greg Monroe.

It's known around the league that the Bucks are seeking shooters to complement the talents of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jabari Parker and the Lakers are rumored to be offering Young and veteran guard Lou Williams.

Thibodeau Takes Charge

Meanwhile, with Tom Thibodeau now calling all the shots in Minnesota, the Wolves are reported to be opening to dealing veteran point guard Ricky Rubio.

Minnesota used the No. 5 pick in June's draft to nab Providence star Chris Dunn, essentially making Rubio expendable. One landing place could be Sacramento, where league assists leader Rajon Rondo bolted over the summer to sign with Chicago as Derrick Rose's replacement.

The 25-year-old Rubio averaged 10.1 points, 8.6 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game for the Wolves last season, though he shot just 37 percent from the field.
