'NCIS' Season 14 Spoilers: McGee, Deliliah Headed to the Altar?
Love is slated to be in the air during the upcoming 14th season of "NCIS."
After a season that saw Cote de Pablo Ziva David character die off and Agent Eleanor "Ellie" Bishop separate from her husband, the somber tone of the series is set to dramatically change this season when McGee (Sean Murray) is expected to wed longtime love Delilah (Margo Harshman).
Will DiNozzo Return?
With news of McGee's upcoming big day making the rounds, fans are now openly salivating at the possible return of Michael Weatherly's Tony DiNozzo character.
After 13 seasons, Weatherly left TV's most watched drama series at the end of last season to pursue other interests. McGee is also slated to be promoted to the rank of senior agent this season, serving in the key administrative role brought on by DiNozzo's exit.
"He has taken over that mantle," "NCIS" showrunner Gary Glasberg said. "And with that comes tremendous responsibility."
Meanwhile, crew leader Gibbs (Mark Harmon) is set to spend the early part of the new season seeking to usher in smooth transition with DiNozzo now gone.
"Gibbs has been trying to find an agent to take over the empty desk [where DiNozzo sat]," Glasberg added.
Ultimately, all the back and forth will result in Special Agent Alex Quinn (Jennifer Esposito) joining the crew, where the former Federal Law Enforcement Training Center instructor instantly butts heads with Gibbs.
"She basically shows up and says to Gibbs, 'What the hell is wrong with you,'" said Glasberg.
Esposito, Valderrama Come on Board
The season premiere will also see Gibbs' team solve a case that involves Special Agent Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama), who returns from a long period of working undercover. Duane Henry's Ml6 Officer Clayton Reeves' is also slated to join the series this season in a regular capacity.
"NCIS" Season 14 premiere on Sept. 20 at 8 p.m. EDT on CBS.
