The United Arab Emirates and Australia meet in the AFC World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday.

Australia is looking to qualify for its fourth straight World Cup dating back to 2006. The team made the round of 16 that year but has been among the worst sides in the two more recent tournaments. The team finished fourth in Group B of the 2014 tournament in a group that featured Spain, Chile and the Netherlands.
The United Arab Emirates faltered early against Japan, falling behind in the 11th minute. But the team managed a goal in the 20th and then in the 54th minute to win the game. Ahmed Khalil scored both goals for the United Arab Emirates to seal the win.
The UAE has never qualified for the World Cup.
