Canada vs. El Salvador Live Stream, Preview, Predictions for World Cup 2018
Canada and El Salvador face off in the World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday.
Canada has everything to play for in this game and even that might not be enough to save the team from elimination.
With just four points in five games, the team needs a win in its final group stage game to get a shot at moving onto the next round. However, it has three things going against it.
First, Honduras has a three-point lead and would only need a draw at Mexico to move on and eliminate Canada.
Secondly, Mexico has nothing to play for as it has already qualified with a perfect record; Honduras will likely be the team readier to take control of that fixture.
Finally, Canada has a -5 goal differential while Honduras has an even one. If Honduras loses and Canada wins, the victory for the North Americans would have to be by at least six goals to push the team through. Canada has only scored two goals in the entirety of the qualifiers.
Fortunately the team is playing host to the worst team in the group that also has nothing to play for as El Salvador has already been eliminated from contention.
Prediction
Look for desperation from the Canadians as they look to stave off elimination and win a spot in the next round of qualifiers. Canada will win 3-0.
