The announcement of the USA Soccer World Cup Roster Team made by Jurgen Klinsmann surprised a lot of America's soccer fans. The surprising deletions and additions are summarized as follows: Eddie Johnson is out. Johnson was part of the U.S. team that qualified them for the World Cup. Other names that were not picked for the U.S. Soccer World Cup Team are midfielder veterans Benny Feilhaber and Sacha Kljestan, forward Juan Agudelo and winger Brek Shea.

Klinsmann still has up to June 2 to make up his final list that will play in Brazil. Starting Wednesday this week, the U.S. team will get to practice at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. They will be competing against Azerbaijan on May 27 at Candlestick Park. Berti Vogts, a U.S. World Cup advisor, will coach the team.

On June 1, the team will move to New York where they will play against Turkey at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey. Prior to their departure for Brazil, the U.S. team will have a friendly match against Nigeria, another participant for the World Cup, at EverBank Field in Jacksonville on June 7.

The U.S. team is scheduled to face Belgium in a closed-door fight on June 12, the opening date of the World Cup prior to starting Group G play versus Ghana on June 16.
