Benfica's fate was far more problematic as the Portuguese side, billed by many to win the group, took a 1-0 lead against Turkish side Besikstas. But with time winding down on the game, the team conceded a late goal and wound up settling for a 1-1 draw at home in a group that will not be kind to those wasting points.
