People En Español's 50 Most Beautiful Event: Icon Rita Moreno Honored, See What Other Latino Celebrities Impressed on Red Carpet
Rita Moreno, the talented Puerto Rican actress and dancer, was honored at last night's 50 Most Beautiful event hosted by People en Español.
The event, which took place in Manhattan, had variety in its mind this year. Instead of just honoring actors and singers, it also honored athletes. Being a part of this issue was also something that was earned.
"Habitually, to be included in People en Español, you need to have triumphed and have a solid career," editor Armando Correa said. "That has almost always defined the 50 Most Beautiful issue, but for the first time, we decided to dedicate it to the new generation. But a new generation can't exist if you don't gave a Rita Moreno, a Ricky Martin, a Jennifer Lopez or a Sofia Vergara. So we decided to do something different and show the generations, ranging from 20 years to Rita Moreno's 82."
The issue was inspired by another Latina icon: Celia Cruz. Her song "La Vida es un Carnaval" inspired the entire look of the issue.
Ricky Martin presented Moreno the Lifetime Achievement Award.
As for the best dressed, the honor went to the following celebs:
Ricky Martin and Rita Moreno, who were an adorable bunch, especially when they posed together.
Jessica Cediel, who picked a look that was very reminiscent of Emma Stone's Met Gala look. The sleek two-piece number may come in a dark color, but it feels light and appropriate for an event that took place in summerlike conditions.
Leslie Singer went for something sweet in her flared dress. The nude color dress works well on her because she has colorful flowers so close to her face, and the nude tone doesn't fight with her skin color.
Alejandra Espinoza went for a pink dress that has a slight Grecian feel. It was low-cut, but she didn't seem too exposed in the look.
