With the Surface Pro 4, Microsoft's flagship laptop, out in the market for almost 1 year, tech lovers are speculating about its successor, the Surface Pro 5.

According to rumors on Tech Radar, the Surface Pro 5 is due to be released in Spring 2017, and will definitely cost more than the Surface Pro 4, possibly starting at $899, and going up based on the specs included in the laptop.

The Surface Pro featured a Surface Pen, which is expected to undergo upgrades with the Surface Pro 5, which includes a magnetic charging dock, as well as for the laptop-tablet to have the ability to purchase and play Xbox Online. The Surface Pro 5 is expected to maintain its headphone jack.

Additionally, the Surface 5 is expected to be developed with longer battery life, and a sharper and bigger screen. Another innovation worth considering is the USB-C, which is basically a reversible port for both input / output to the USB port. Currently, Microsoft is testing USB-C technology on their Windows Lumia phones, so there are hopes that the Surface Pro 5 will come with one (or two) USB-C ports.

Amidst much speculation over the launch happening at a big Microsoft event on October 26, Tech Times says that this event is likely connected to Windows 10, as well as updates and services for users of Microsoft desktops, notebooks, and smartphones running the operating system. This includes most Android and iOS devices that are embedded with these softwares.

Fans need not fear however, as Microsoft has revealed that it is starting a "subscription program" which not only allows users to upgrade software as new ones are developed, but also, to upgrade hardware when newer models are launched. Good news for Microsoft fans who are happy with their Surface Pro 4 and are excited to jump onto the Surface Pro 5 and all the new innovation it has to offer.
