Barcelona, Atletico Madrid continued their winning run
After the International break Champions League returned this week. The Spanish giants Barcelona and Athletico Madrid beat their opponents to maintain their 100 per cent winning record in group stages so far this season. This has maintained their winning streak in home league as well as in Champions League.
Barcelona beat EPL side Manchester City 4-0 while Athletico beat FC Rostov 1-0. Another Spanish heavyweight Real Madrid also defeated Legia Warsaw 5-1 on Tuesday.
Barcelona's victory came against their former manager Pep Guardiola. Camp Nou side were dominated the whole game while Man city looked weak in every aspect of the game.
Messi was the hero in Barca's victory as he hit hat trick in the thoroughly deserved against the English side. This is the second hat trick for the Argentine in two games this season in Champions League.
Yannick Ferreira Carrasco scored against FC Rostov. According to Maill Online, Carrasco now boasts five goals from his last four games for Atletico after having failed to score in his first seven outings of the season.
Athletico Madrid is currently on the top of La Liga table alongside with Real Madrid. Both the teams had come from winning their games in La Liga this weekend and are now on top in their respected groups.
Barcelona had lost its last match in Champions League against Athletico Madrid in the last season during semifinal while, Athletico lost to Real Madrid in the last season's final.

Now the second leg of the league will start from the next month. The trio of Spanish football has tight competition for the league. Barcelona has started their season with two defeats and is currently positioned at fourth position in the league.These three sides are the major contenders for the title this year.
