Arnold Schwarzenegger Reveals Plans of Running for President in 2016
Arnold Schwarzenegger has revealed in a recent interview that he would have run for presidency in 2016 if he was allowed.
He said during a feature with Adweek that if he had been born in America, he would have run because this time is a very good time to get in the race.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is an Austrian-born actor and had been a citizen of the United States of America since 1983. He had been also the 38th governor of California from 2003 to 2011 for two terms. He did not qualify for the candidacy because as according to American Constitution only a natural born U.S. citizen is eligible to run for presidency, according to US Magazine.
Schwarzenegger would have run in the Republican ticket. But he wrote on October 8 online "For the first time since I became a citizen in 1983, I will not vote for the Republican candidate for President. As proud as I am to label myself a Republican, there is one label that I hold above all else - American." Schwarzenegger is among the prominent Republican politicians who announced that they will not be voting Donald Trump. These announcements were declared after Trump's sexist video controversy.
Donald Trump as NBC's Apprentice's host was replaced by Arnold Schwarzenegger. In order to convinced others not to consider the party instead the person running for the highest office of the country he added, "So I want to take a moment today to remind my fellow Republicans that it is not only acceptable to choose your country over your party - it is your duty."
Although Schwarzenegger expressed dislike to Trump he also revealed that he is reluctant in voting Democrat Hillary Clinton as Fox News reported.
The former California governor is known for his box-office hit films such as Terminator, Predator, True Lies and many others. He is so popular and has potential for presidency if he is qualified.
