In end, Rafa Benitez was right.

The Napoli manager recently stated that he felt that his club was superior to Roma despite losing to that very same team in the first leg of the Coppa Italia and also trailing them in the standings.

His team did not let him down in the second leg, with a 3-0 win that eliminated Roma from the tournament.

The match featured goals from two of the team's major summer additions. Jose Maria Callejon, who came over from Real Madrid, got the festivities started in the 33rd minute with a goal that tied the aggregate at 3-3 and put Roma on the brink of elimination. Just 16 minutes later, former Real Madrid star Gonzalo Higuain added yet another goal to give his side a 4-3 aggregate lead; at that point Roma needed two goals to eliminate Napoli. Jorginho Frello scored in the 51st to eliminate Roma for good.

"It wasn't the perfect performance, but it was almost perfect," Benitez said, according to Goal. "Everyone worked hard in the defensive phase and then we were able to score three great goals.

"The team showed their quality. It was difficult to win against this Roma team and to do it without conceding a goal."

Napoli will now meet Fiorentina in the final. Fiorentina took down Udinese 3-2 on aggregate through two matches.

Napoli's road to the final has included wins over Atalanta, Lazio and Roma. Fiorentina took down Chievo, Siena and Udinese on its way to the final.
