Despite experiencing some unexpected delays, the upcoming "Creditors" movie is still slated to go into production this spring.

Director Ben Cura says the film's production will now take place in Spain, instead of its original location in England. Cura noted that the film would still star Christian McKay, Simon Callow and Andrea Deck; Cura will also play one of the lead roles in the film.

"Creditors" is based off the August Strindberg play of the same name. Cura originally launched a Kickstarter campaign for the film back in October, but was unable to reach the proposed goal of £200,000. Among the main financial backers of that campaign were Alan Rickman (most famous for his turn as Snape in the "Harry Potter" franchise) and opera star Thomas Hampson. Cura noted that the production team planned to launch another Kickstarter campaign, though he said that it would not ask for as much money as his previous campaign. He also did not mention when the campaign would be launched.

Part of the film has already been made and the team is looking to get funds to finish the project.

Cura was inspired to adapt the Strindberg play into a film after he saw revival in London directed by Rickman in 2008.

"It truly moved me, but I didn't decide to turn it into a movie right away. It would take me two years before eventually deciding to write the script," he stated during an interview with Latinos post. "Even during all that time, it stuck with me."

Cura started writing the script in 2011 and spent the next two years revising and restructing the script. He started working on pre-production in 2013. Click Here to read the full interview with Cura.
