Hull City vs. Southampton Live Stream, Score, Preview, Predictions: EPL 2013-14
Hull City and Southampton will do battle in the Premier League on Tuesday.
Southampton is one of the nine teams not worried about relegation at the moment. With 36 points the team is 13 points ahead of 18th place, the first relegation spot. However, the team is not among those in the race for first place as it is 11 back of fifth place and 14 behind fourth place Liverpool.
While the team has little at stake, it will be facing a team fighting for its Premier League life.
Hull City's 27 points keep the team tied for 10th but the positioning is deceiving. Eighteenth place West Bromwich Albion has 23 points and plays home against Chelsea. But aside from that threat, Hull City could fall down the standings easily with a loss and wins from other teams beneath it.
"Apart from the big teams, Southampton are the best of the rest of us," said Hull manager Steve Bruce, according to ESPN. "They've got individual players who I think will play at the highest level. Lallana, Shaw, Rodriguez, Lambert... really top-class players.
"If you've grown up with a club like Lallana and Shaw have that helps enormously. One of the great Manchester United teams had five or six who came through the ranks and the whole thing revolved around them for 12-15 years."
Prediction: Southampton may be on the road, but the team is clearly the better side. Expect Southampton to win 2-0.
