Samsung introduces new foldable phone, Samsung Galaxy X [VIDEO]
There was an era where everybody had a fascination of flip phones, it seems that Samsung is bringing back that time but with more advanced technology.
The company has ideas of launching a foldable phone; it will not resemble the exact flip phones which were once used earlier. But it is said to be something even better. As reported by The Verge, Samsung will experiment a new future phone. The company has already filed a patent with the Korean Intellectual Property Office for a foldable smart-phone.
The foldable phone which will be known as Samsung Galaxy X is supposed to arrive next year. With a steady growth of smart-phones over the past few months, Samsung is taking out a new approach to be one of the first to capture the market.
The phone is said to be long and narrow. However, there might be changes if necessary. It will consist of a flexible seam in the middle which will allow it to be folded in on itself, the best part is that the patent describes that the device can be folded and unfolded semi automatically as stated on International Business Times.
The design is believed to be fascinating, and with different types of hinges and mechanisms Samsung is totally committed to their new foldable smart-phone business. The experience is said to be better than the usage of those old school flip phones which are now rare to find.
With the fall of the Note 7 the company is busy with the Galaxy S8, the foldable phone might just be a great opportunity to drive the attention away from its failure models.
There has been news that the company has plans for smart-phones and tablets with bendable OLED screens. Lenovo on the other side has previously displayed a prototype demo of its bendable smart-phone and tablet in its Tech World 2016 event. There are two possible outcomes with the Samsung Galaxy X, either it will be a huge success or it will not.
