Kanye West & Kim Kardashian Wedding: Jay-Z and Beyonce to Attend, Magna Carta Holy Grail Rapper to Be Best Man
Jay Z is reportedly set to be Kanye West's best man at the "Yeezus" rapper's highly anticipated upcoming wedding with Kim Kardashian, and his wife Beyoncé will attend the special ceremony as well.
The latest news update comes after previous reports claiming that the "Drunk in Love" duo would not attend the wedding, apparently due to misgivings about being filmed as part of the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians." The couple were able to change their minds as a result of negotiations with E! Network to keep much of the ceremony camera-free.
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian scaled back filming plans of the reality show and made certain parts off limits. For instance, "they used the loophole in Nori's contract that they can say no to any life moment she is a part of being filmed, so it would not be in breach of contract."
Also, the "KUWTK" reality star took to her Twitter account last week to announce that the forthcoming event would not be televised: "1. We are not married yet! 2. We are not filming our wedding for Keeping Up with the Kardashians. You will see everything leading up til and after! As much as we would love to share these memories on camera, we've decided to keep this close to our hearts; share thru photos."
In addition, soon-to-be-married West was shocked to receive a surprise gift from Jay Z. "The best news came when Jay sent a gift to Kanye with an inscription referring to Jay Z as the rapper's 'Best Man,'" the source said. "The gift was a gold-plated, diamond-encrusted flask, delivered with a $10,000 bottle of scotch, for Kanye to have for his wedding day."
"Kanye was almost jumping up and down, he was so excited," the source added. "He was running around Kris' house to find Kim saying, 'Baby, look! Look! Jay and B are coming!' Kanye has been begging Jay to reconsider his decision not to come to the wedding, an even more devastating decision that left Kanye groomsman-less when he declined being his best man during the televised nuptials."
