South Park rewrites episode predicting Hillary Clinton as President
Just like other TV series, South Park has been one of those who thought Hillary Clinton will win the recently-concluded presidential elections. With Donald Trump emerging as the winner, the series has decided to rewrite their latest episode quickly before its airing.
Esquire reported that while each South Park episode takes a period of six days to finish, the electoral upset means that a complete yet speedy rewrite is necessary for the replacement episode.
GameNGuide reported that the episode was supposed to be titled "The Very First Gentleman." Now, it is titled "Biggest Election Upset in US History," and is set to air on Wednesday, November 9. The new episode has been edited and it's called "Oh Jeez" in the episode trailer.
The original episode's synopsis, which presumes Hillary Clinton's victory, has been taken down alongside the title. The series meant to tease fans to talk about the new US President through the episode. Although it didn't mention Trump directly, it excerpted his now-famous campaign slogan: "Well i don't know about you guys but i'm sure America is going to be great again."
As seen on the trailer, the new episode features Randy Marsh, as he asks his family if they are excited with the new President. Shelly then responds, saying that the country is going to suck for the next four years. Towards the end of the trailer, Sandy tells Shelly they've learned that women can become anything, except President.
Given the gaffe done by South Park, it really can't be denied that Trump's rise to the presidency is by no means expected. Although a Clinton victory serves as a far more fitting result, the real estate mogul's win now emerges as a reckonable fact. It remains to be seen now as to whether there will be more South Park episodes on Trump's four years.
