Nina Dobrev officially returns in a future episode of The Vampire Diaries Season 8. According to Headlines and Global News, the former lead actress is finally done filming episode 12.

The 27-year old Bulgarian-Canadian actress confirmed that she will reprise her role as Katherine Pierce and not as Elena Gilbert. This is to conclude the storyline of Katherine and Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder).

On the other hand, Paul Wesley will exit the show. Game N Guide has learned that Wesley's character, Stefan Salvatore will be killed in the upcoming episode.
