MLB 14: The Show is a home run with retailers, baseball fans and critics alike. The PlayStation exclusive has already racked up numerous glowing reviews and has become the fastest selling title in the series.

Thats right, when compared to MLB 13: The Show, the newer version has sold 40 percent more copies in the same one week timeframe.

But there's more! One of the most impressive stats collected by Sony is how many games have been played by users thus far. That numbers stands at 10 million and counting.

Other data shows that the most played stadium is Yankee Stadium, which, for obvious reasons, is not surprising. Meanwhile, the most played team is the Baltimore Orioles, and 500,000 bases have been swiped as well -- they've yet to be recovered.

Now gameplay is largely the same. You pitch, you hit, you field and the fans go crazy. What's different this time around is that MLB 14: The Show is the first title in the series that has been released for PS4. Typically, early next-generation gameplay titles have a bit more polish to 'em, but there isn't a huge graphical chasm between the titles of yesteryear and today. MLB 14: The Show bucks this trend in a big way. The graphical difference between both PS3 and PS4 versions (not to mention the Vita version) is tantamount to the difference between a color and black-and-white movie. Polygon reports that the in-game stadiums have gone from 150 thousand to a whopping one million. It's detail you can see.

In fact, this baseball game looks so real on PS4 that you should just sell your PS3. You know what time it is: It's showtime.

In other baseball news, 2K Games announced back in January of this year that they declined to renew their official MLB license. That means The Show stands alone and is basically baseball's equivalent of the Madden Football franchise.
