Nicole Scherzinger is totally against abortion, the singer encourages everyone to keep their babies. She almost turned down ABCs "Dirty Dancing" remake because she did not want to promote abortion. Nicole will be playing the role of Penny Johnson in the TV remake of "Dirty Dancing".

The 38-year-old Pussycat Doll explained that she almost scrapped the role because her character deals with abortion. However, she thinks she could make a positive influence on the film she surely does not like the idea of Penny falling pregnant in the original film as per the Mail Online.

Nicole has her own reasons for having anti-abortion beliefs; she also stated that her family is really hardcore against it because her mother had her at a young age of 18. "I want to encourage everybody to keep their babies" she said.

According to Perez Hilton, she feels that probably she can be a voice and shed some light on the subject without being preachy. Nicole also thinks that the decision must belong to each woman and wishes everyone has the support, money and health to do so.

Nicole's grandparents never allowed her mother to have an abortion, besides her mother had split from her father Alfonso Valiente when she was very young. Her family was also against her in taking up the role for the remake, later on her grandfather who is a preacher prayed on the topic and they came to a conclusion that it was what she was meant to do.

The star was happy and so excited to join the cast of the 1987 adaptation; she tweeted to her fans on twitter stating that she can't wait for them to watch the remake. Nicole has been an excellent dancer and singer and she appears to be the exact person who will fit the character Penny. It's only the storyline and the abortion part that she does not favor.
