Sailor Moon R-The Movie-Promise of The Rose Available in U.S Theaters on January 20
Sailor Moon is in everyone's heart. Most people still remember when this character accompanied their childhood. For those who miss Sailor Moon, there is a good news; the U.S. premiere of Sailor Moon R: The Movie: Promise of The Rose will be available in late January in 300 theaters across the U.S. The move is presented by Toei Animation Inc. and VIZ Media, in collaboration with Eleven Arts, a LA-based film distributor.
The most-anticipated event also presents the North American theatrical debut of the original Sailor Moon short animation, Make Up! Sailor Moon Guardians.
The film originally was available in Japan in 1993. From the period of 1999-2004, Geneon Entertainment released the series on DVD and VHS. The "Make Up! Sailor Guardians" anime short also opened in 1993, according to Animesnetwork.
No worries about the language as the film will be dubbed in English (with Japanese subtitles), for the first time in North America. Voice actress Stephanie Sheh will do the role of Usagi Tsukino / Sailor Moon and actor Robbie Daymond as Mamoru Chiba / Tuxedo Mask. While nwewcomer Ben Diskin will be as Fiore, the movie's villain, as Movieweb reported.
This upcoming movie is about Mamoru, who gave a single rose as a token of gratitude to a lonely boy who helped him recover from the accident that killed his parents. It was before he found a destiny with Usagi. While Fiore has been exploring the galaxy to find a flower worthy of that sweet gesture long ago. Then he finally finds the strange flower. It is beautiful but dangerous as well: The flower has the power to seize planets. Ironically, the mysterious plant is tied to an ominous new asteroid close to the Earth to worsen everything ! Faced with an enemy blooming out of control and unwanted situation, it's up to Sailor Moon and the Sailor Guardians to team up to stop the catastrophe and save Mamoru!
And fans will be wondering about this: In the Make Up! Sailor Moon Guardians animated short, Usagi and Chibi-Usa overhear two girls are having a debate about which one of the Sailor Guardians is the best at a cafe. Will Usagi's alter-ego, Sailor Moon, end up as their favorite?
