The Memphis Grizzlies proved its resiliency with its 110-89 win against the Golden State Warriors, Saturday night. Working with a young bench and a rookie coach, the team was able to topple one of the strongest lineups this season, bringing the winning streak to six.

Mark Gasol and the rest of the Grizzlies started the game strong, with the Warriors playing catch-up for the duration of the game. The lead even went as high as 30 points during the second half, which is the highest lead a Warriors opponent had for the season.  Gasol and Tony Allen contributed 19 points each for the Grizzlies, while Zach Randolph and JaMychal Green finished with 14 points across their names, according to CSN.

Managing their 17-8 standing is quite a feat for the basketball club this season. Randolph and Allen were out for seven games. Vince Carter, James Ennis III, Chandler Parsons Brendan Wright and Mike Conley are all nursing injuries - with Conley out until January, at least.

Chris Wallace, the team's manager, is quite pleased with the performance of the team as of late. Admiring the resiliency that the young players are showing, he also commends David Fizdale, the team's rookie coach, as he is able to bounce the team back up, especially during tight situations.

According to NBA.com, the team's defense, which is at the top of the league's standings for the season, has played a big part for Saturday night's win. With their tight defense, Memphis was able to limit Golden State, scoring 118 points at its best, to just 89, which brought them the win.

As for the Warriors, Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry ended the game early on the fourth quarter with 21 and 17 points respectively. Steve Kerr, coach of the Warriors, kept his starters to the bench with 10 minutes remaining, as Memphis was at the lead. 93-65.

Memphis will be facing the Cavs next in back to back matches.
