Sony's "Spider-Man: Homecoming" will be released on July 7, 2017 in the US starring Tom Holland as the third Peter Parker in the last two decades. Many villains have come and gone in the respective Spider-Man franchises but fans won't be seeing Kingpin anytime soon or ever, according to Vincent D'Onofrio.

The Kingpin is regarded as one of the best comic book villains and he is involved in most superhero stories in Marvel including "Spider-man," "Daredevil," and "The Punisher." According to Vincent D'Onofrio, the current actor of Kingpin in "Daredevil," the villain won't likely show up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) including "Spider-Man: Homecoming."

D'Onofrio stated on Twitter in a reply to a fan that Kingpin won't likely be in the MCU because the superheroes in the movies already have their hands full for other villains. According to Movieweb, there have been speculations that Kingpin will be in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" but with Onofrio's statements, that won't be the case. Additionally, D'Onofrio also said that Kingpin won't be showing up in "The Defenders" as well. The mini-series is currently in production and will be released on Netflix.

D'Onofrio's Kingpin, whose real name is Wilson Fisk is the current villain for Netflix's exclusive show, "Daredevil" seasons 1 and 2. It would seem that while Kingpin won't be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe including "Spider-Man: Homecoming" and future installments, he will star in Marvel TV series.

According to Den of Geek, D'Onofrio s Kingpin is rumored to return in "Daredevil" season 3. When pried for confirmation, the D'Onofrio did not reveal the answer. However, there are rumors that his character may also star in another upcoming 2017 Netflix series, "The Punisher" opposite Jon Bernthal as the titular character.
