Samsung Notebook 9 gets Kaby Lake refresh – and slick new design
Samsung's Notebook 9 line of laptops is already well known for its superb portability and excellent design. Samsung had just reveled their two new additions a 15 inches and a 13.3 inches version.
The smaller one is very light and easy to carry in a small bag-pack, it weight just 817g, while on the other side the 15 inches Notebook 9 bumps that up to 984g a slight difference. The refined design is also very slick and slim, with almost bezelless, it's featured with edge to edge display.
As per TrusteDreviews Samsung claims its Micro Arc Oxidation Rigidity technology offers improved structural integrity, thermal and shock resistance. The new bodies themselves measures 347.9 X 229.4 X 14.9mm on the 15inch and 309.4 X 208 X 13.9mm on the 13-inch one.
The screen in these these new flagship laptops comes in FullHD resolution with 95 percent sRGB coverage, 178 degree viewing angles and a special outdoor brightness boost mode of 500 nits for experiencing better picture quality and working experience.
According to GSMArena CPu options go all the way to a 7th generation Core i7 processor which is one of the latest one, company also promises that the laptops will give up to 7 hours of battery life with internal cooling system, that will be reviewed after the launch.
Both the Notebook 9 variants will come up with standard 8GB and 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, depending on the CPU. As far as the storage concern the smaller one has a 256 GB SATA 3 SSD out of the box, while the 15 inches bumps it up to a faster PCIe, NVMe one of the same capacity.
Other goodies includes dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 4.1. two 1.5W speakers and liberal I/O including a USB type-C port,full -sized HDMI, and a microSD card reader. There is still no word on pricing or availability for the refreshed models.
The move could be seen as curiously timed, as Christmas is knocking at the door and also very close to January's CES 2017, the annual Las Vegas technology tradeshow. It's expected that the new Notebooks will be announced at the show, but Samsung may still decide to showcase the laptops on site in any case.
