Arnold Schwarzenegger with Self Esteem Issues |Never Saw Perfection Even When in Top Shape
Arnold Schwarzenegger may be a seven-time Mr. Olympia, a Hollywood action superstar and an ex-mayor of California but he admits that he still struggles with self-esteem. He opened up to Cigar Aficionado his self-image issues and candidly said "when I look in the mirror I throw up."
People reported on the action hero's struggle with self-image. "The New Celebrity Apprentice" host said that he was too critical about his looks even when he has already achieved top physical shape. He recalled the time when he just won Mr. Olympia; he would look at his image in the mirror and as how did he manage to win.
The 69-year old actor said that despite winning body building awards, he never saw perfection but instead he would see something lacking or missing. "I could always find a million things wrong with myself and that's what got me back into the gym."
Arnold said that because of this mentality, he would work out every day. He would perform weight training and cardio training the minute he wakes up and before he retires at night. He confesses that he is doing this to stay in shape for as long as he can.
Meanwhile, The Sun reported that the "Terminator" actor admitted that he does not feel like his age. He will soon be turning 70 but he said that he never felt better because he maintained the same healthy lifestyle that he had twenty years ago.
The "Predator" star is also the expert in writing fitness schedules and training programs when he was younger. He admits that he lives by training programs, eating programs and competition programs; he knows that as soon as he stops all these he would disappoint himself. That is the last thing that he wants to happen.
He admits that with his career, he has to look great every day so he challenges himself with training repetitions and psyching himself up. He would call himself a loser and challenge himself to follow what he wrote down when it comes to eating right and fitness.
