'Nuestra Belleza Latina' Recap: The Beauties Test for Sabado Gigante & The Winner Is Crowned
The eighth winner of "Nuestra Belleza Latina" was crowned Sunday night.
Puerto Rican Aleyda Ortiz is the newest winner, who received 38 percent of the public's vote. Marisela Demontecristo handed her the crown.
"I'm very happy with this success, and I truthfully want to thank everyone who has supported me from home," she said. "I will not disappoint you. Kisses."
The show opened with former winners Alejandra Espinoza, Melissa Marty, Greydis Gil, Ana Patricia Gonzalez, Nastassja Bolivar, Vanessa De Roide and Marisela Demontecristo wearing purple leotards and dancing to Ricky Martin's "Vida."
The four remaining contestants' last meal at their shared mansion was food from their respective countries. They were accompanied by their godmothers, and each took the opportunity to thank the public for their support.
Before announcing the winners, there was a recap of the season. Some of the best challenges and dances were shown.
For the last challenge, the beauties had to work with Don Francisco. He tested each contestant on how well they would do if they were a host on "Sabado Gigante." Aly had to play La Cuatro. Nabila was a doll. Aleyda interviewed Don Francisco and she danced "La Colita." And Josephine offered an advertising segment.
Luis Fonsi sang "Corazón en La Maleta" alongside the seven former queens.
The contestants also had a magical parade in honor of the new Disney movie "Maleficent," which will be released in May 30.
Eugenio Cobo of Televisa sent a video to announce who would win a scholarship to study acting, which Aly Villegas won. She said, "I'm very excited. Thank you very much, and I hope to make the most out of it."
Unfortunately, she then learned that she finished in fourth place with 16 percent of the vote. The second runner up was Nabila Tapia, who consistently did well with the judges and the public.
Before the winner was announced, Pepe Aguilar sang to the final two: Aleyda and Josephine. Then, Marisela Demontecristo said goodbye to her title before Aleyda Ortiz was announced as the winner.
