Have overwatch? Login to get free loot crates
Blizzard entertainment, the developers behind the popular first-person shooter and multiplayer game Overwatch, are handing out loot boxes for all their players for free due to the holiday season that's currently in progression until Jan. 02. The game has also reportedly received regular in-game content in different forms through video trailers and in-game animations.
The free loot boxes courtesy of the holiday week will be dropped in finite quantities while according to Gamerant, each player will receive five quantities for free. In addition to the one free loot crate dropped during the winter wonderland seasonal event, would complete the six total free drops from the developer.
It's also estimated that there would be more drops perhaps a unique and legendary crate is now presumably possible. This would certainly generate additional traffic towards the game now that the free loot crates are handing out new content unlocking new customizations. The game is also discounted by the developer themselves for all platforms which they claim is the perfect reason to gift the game to loved ones.
A report on destructoid, revealed that there's no actual expiry date for loots which means once players receive the drops, it's forever theirs to keep including the one dropped during the winter wonderland event. Seems like the in-game main menu also greeted the players for Christmas post logging in.
All these incentives from Blizzard entertainment, is their way of thanking the players thanking them for their continuous support making Overwatch one of the most played online game this year. The game has certainly seen some definite improvement over the months even securing a dedicated world cup too.
Apart from the competitions themselves, frequent content has been introduced into their servers in terms of characters and maps. Overall, it's very certain that Blizzard's trial at first person shooter games have been a huge success and now that it'll only be a matter of time for it to compete in-depth, with other games in the industry.
